Indore nodal inter-college badminton competition of R.G.P.V. inaugurated at SGSITS

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Indore nodal level inter-college badminton (male and female) competition organized by SGSITS Indore under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya was inaugurated in the presence of the chief guest Professor Avdhesh Dalpati, in-charge of sports of the institute and special guest Zameel Khan, coordinator of Indore nodal sports center. The program was presided over by Prof. Girish Gaurav Soni, member of the sports committee of the institute. On this occasion, Dheeraj Verma, Vikram Hansari, Siddiq Ansari and Kunal Ojha were present.
While giving this information, Competition Coordinator Captain (Dr.) Manish Jaiswal said that a total of 28 teams of Indore Nodal are participating in this competition. On the basis of this competition, Indore Nodal’s Badminton (M. & M.) team will be selected which will participate in the state level Badminton competition of RGPV.
The results of the preliminary matches played today are as follows-
In the preliminary match of the men’s category, host SGSITS Indore defeated Acropolis Pharma Indore 3-0. In this match, Aryan Gupta of SGSITS defeated Ashish Katghare of Acropolis 21-16 and 21-17 in the first singles. In the second singles, Abhiraj Singh Solanki of SGSITs defeated Ashish Rana of Acropolis by 21-13 and 21-19. In the third doubles, the pair of Kunal Soni and Akshay Vidhvans of SGSITs defeated the pair of Abdullah Babar and Avadhiya Solanki of Acropolis by 21-15 and 21-14.
In the preliminary match of women’s category, host SGSITs Indore defeated IIP Pharma Indore by 2-0. In this match, in the first singles of SGSITs, Shaili Juneja defeated Mehak Verma of IIP Pharma by 21-10 and 21-9. In the second singles, Niharika Sant of SGSITs defeated Anisha Thakur of IIP Pharma by 21-7 and 21-8 and entered the next round.
The chief guest encouraged the players in his speech and said that he wishes all the participating players good performance and gave advance best wishes to the players participating in the state level badminton competition. Special guest Jameen Khan threw light on the usefulness of sports.
