2 min read

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Senior spokesperson of the state Congress Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the BJP government has expressed its inability to host the Eklavya Adarsh Residential School National Sports Competition, due to which the central government has cancelled the hosting from Chhattisgarh. This is an insult to Chhattisgarh, the government could not prepare for the National Sports Competition in 3 months. The fact is that if the tribals studying in Eklavya Residential Schools across the country and their families had come to Chhattisgarh for this sports competition, the anti-tribal character of the BJP government would have come to the fore. The way atrocities are being committed on the tribals for the last 12 months, a conspiracy is being hatched to capture their water, forest and land. Despite the opposition of the tribals, the forests of Hasdeo are being cut down. Innocent tribals are being killed in Bastar by calling them Naxalites. The government, frightened by these incidents, refused to host for fear of being exposed.

Senior spokesperson of the state Congress Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the chief minister is from the tribal community and there are many tribal MLAs in the BJP. The cancellation of the Eklavya Residential School National Sports Competition is a proof of the BJP being anti-tribal. The BJP does not want that sports events of the tribal community should be organised and the culture, tradition and festivals of the tribals should be promoted. The BJP government has already stopped the Chhattisgarh Olympics to be held in the state, did not even organise the World Tribal Day and now cancelling the Eklavya Residential School National Sports Competition is a failure of the BJP government. The Chief Minister of the state should tell under whose pressure he has taken the decision not to hold the National Sports Competition.
