PUCL host seminar on International Human Rights Day
2 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): On the occasion of International Human Rights Day , PUCL Chhattisgarh organized a seminar in Karma Bhawan, Bhilai. After the seminar, a street meeting was also organized in Supela Chowk, Bhilai. In both the seminar and the street meeting, “against the felling of Hansdev forest in the interest of the highly corrupt corporate Adani, against the violent attacks on the Christian community on false charges of conversion and on the Muslim community on false charges of cow meat smuggling in Bastar, Jashpur and other districts of Chhattisgarh, against the fake encounter killings/custodial killings and sexual atrocities of the tribals by the armed forces in the Bastar region in the name of suppressing Maoism, for the release of vocal social workers like Sunita Potam, Sarju Tekam against the suppression of the tribal community, for the release of innocent tribal people imprisoned in jail, against the corporate loot of water, forest and land in the state, against the fascist RSS and its affiliated organizations which are the dealers of majoritarianism, hatred and division, against the Girodpuri incident And voices were raised in favour of the release of innocent people arrested in the Loharidih case, against the increasing violation of human rights in the state and against the genocide being carried out by the terrorist Zionist Israel under the military patronage of the US in Gaza and Lebanon.
The meeting was addressed by PUCL and partner organisations’ office bearers – Lakhan Subodh, Tuhin, Neera Dahriya, Chandrabhan, S S Gill, Alok Vimal Premanand, Basant Sahu, Adilkami, Sonu Begum, Pushpa, Mohtam Bharti, Surendra Mohanty, Deepak Sahu Bhuvistit, J P Nair and other comrades. Prasad Rao presided over theprogramme and it was conducted by Kaladas. Lakshminarayan Kumbhakar presented revolutionary folk songs.
