Asteria Aerospace handed over AT-15 VTOL drones to Army

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy) : Asteria Aerospace has completed the delivery of AT-15 vertical takeoff and landing drones to the Army. This was the biggest contract of drones in India till date which has been completed by Asteria. With this, the country has moved one step further towards becoming self-reliant in terms of security. These drones will help in internal security, as well as on the borders, they will be able to significantly increase the capabilities of the army by becoming its eyes in the sky.

On this occasion, Neel Mehta, Director and Co-Founder of Asteria Aerospace said, “By handing over the indigenously made AT-15 surveillance drone to the Ministry of Defense, we have shown that we are ready to cooperate fully to meet the needs in terms of defense.”

This ‘man portable’ drone has many specialties. These drones can work even in high mountainous areas. Be it night or day – its high resolution cameras can show clear pictures. Drones will help the country’s guns to aim accurately. That is why AT-15 drones can be of great use to the country’s army in securing the country’s borders.

The Asteria AT-15 drone has a blended wing design which helps in flying at speed, even amidst strong winds, these drones can work without any problem at an altitude of 6,000 meters from the ground. These drones can be flown even from a small space because they take off and land vertically.

The flight time of AT-15 is 120 minutes and the viewing range is 20 kilometers. That is, it can keep a constant eye on the enemy’s activities. This drone has an EO-IR payload which can zoom and show things closely, so better intelligence can be obtained from it. It is lightweight, robust and man partable, meaning it does not require any machine to move it.”
