Seven teams win SIH 2024 at Amity University
2 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy) :Seven teams were declared winners out which two are joint winners in the two-day 7th Edition of Smart India Hackathon 2024 (Software) organised at Amity University Chhattisgarh, Raipur.
Team Dhrishti – Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore were the winner in Smart Education problem area, second joint winners were Team Codee of Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, Mumbai and Team Escape Characters of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patialia, Punjab. Their problem statement was Disaster Management.
Trash Cam – Hans Raj College, University of Delhi were the third winner on problem statement of Clean and Green Technology while the fourth joint winners were team Dharohar Dhara_TMSL – Techno Main Salt Lake, Kolkata and Team V R Warrior_923 of Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai with problem statement of Heritage and Culture.
The fifth winner was Team Swasth Infinity – Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women, Delhi on problem statement of Fitness and Sports. The winner teams were given Rs 1 lakh cheque.
The valedictory function was addressed by Amity University Vice Chancellor Dr Piyush Kant Pandey.
Amity University Chhattisgarh, was one of the 51 nodal centres for the SIH 2024 Grand Finale (Software), hosted the event with enthusiasm and grandeur.
The event saw participation from 31 teams, comprising 186 students (103 males and 83 females) from 13 states across India, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, West Bengal, Rajasthan and other states. The participants, guided by 28 mentors, worked on five significant problem areas: Clean and Green Technology, Smart Education, Disaster Management, Heritage and Culture, and Fitness and Sports. Their innovative solutions were evaluated by 17 esteemed jury members, including experts from academia and industry.
On the inaugural day Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the participants during the evening hours.
The Smart India Hackathon, launched in 2017, has evolved into one of the world’s largest open innovation platforms, providing students with opportunities to tackle real-world challenges while contributing to the nation’s development.
