Chargesheet filed against 3 CPI workers in Ratan Dubey murder case
1 min readNarayanpur (Team Newsbuddy). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against three more CPI (Maoist) workers in the murder case of Chhattisgarh BJP leader Ratan Dubey. The three have been identified as Sainuram Korram, Laluram Korram and an armed worker.
The three have been charged under various sections of the IPC Act and the UA(P) Act in a supplementary chargesheet filed before the NIA Special Court in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh today. All the three accused in the chargesheet were found to be actively involved in the criminal conspiracy to murder Ratan Dubey. Sainuram Korram and Laluram Korram were arrested on June 27, 2024.
BJP leader was killed in weekly market
Ratan Dubey was hacked to death with axes by members of banned terrorist organization CPI (Maoist) while campaigning in a crowded weekly market in Kaushalnar village on 4 November 2023. The aim of the targeted killing was to disrupt the free and fair election process and spread terror among the local people.
Investigation continues in the case
The NIA investigation established the role and involvement of members of Bayanar Area Committee and Barsoor Area Committee of East Bastar Division working under CPI (Maoist). The NIA registered case RC-08/2024/NIA/RPR on 23 February 2024 after taking over the investigation from the local police. On June 5, the NIA filed a chargesheet against an accused Dhan Singh Korram. Further investigation is underway in the case.
