‘Record purchase of paddy goes to former Congress government’

 Raipur(TEAM NEWS BUDDY).State Congress senior spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the former Congress government had set a target of purchasing 135 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from more than 27 lakh farmers from November 1 at a price of about Rs 2800 per quintal at 20 lakh rupees and this  Even before the implementation of the Election Code of Conduct, Disha had made arrangements for payment to the farmers, gunny bags, transportation and giving tokens to the farmers.  As a result of which, today it has been possible to purchase 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.

Senior State Congress spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the present government has no contribution in the paddy procurement in the current Kharif season, paddy is being procured due to the arrangements made by the previous government. The state government should increase the date of paddy procurement by 2 months. In the paddy collection centres, farmers are not being given tokens as per their demand, gunny bags are not being given and at some places there are disputes regarding weighing. It seems that the present government does not want to buy paddy from the farmers, hence it is creating such chaos and preventing the farmers from selling the paddy. If paddy is purchased from farmers in the right quantity, then this time the paddy purchase will be above 135 lakh metric tons. Still, more than 7 lakh farmers in the state have not been able to sell paddy. Paddy should be purchased until the paddy is purchased from the last farmer of the state.
