Reservation process for posts of Mayor, Chairman on 7th January

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): For the general elections in urban bodies, the reservation process for the posts of Mayor in Municipal Corporations and Chairman in Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats will now be conducted on 7th January 2025. Earlier, the Urban Administration and Development Department had fixed the date of 27 December 2024 for this. Due to unavoidable reasons, the reservation process to be held on 27 December has been postponed and now the date of 7 January has been fixed for this.

The reservation process will be conducted at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium located in Science College Campus, Raipur on 7 January from 10:30 am. People interested in observing the reservation proceedings can be present on the scheduled date, time and place. It is noteworthy that the Urban Administration Department is carrying out the process of reservation of the posts of Mayors of Municipal Corporations and Chairmen of Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Municipality (Reservation of the Post of Mayor and Chairperson) Rules, 1999 for the general elections of urban bodies to be held in the state in the year 2024-25.
