MP Brijmohan takes meeting of Airport Advisory Committee to start international air service
1 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): A meeting of Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) was held here to expand air services in Chhattisgarh and make Swami Vivekananda Airport better for passengers. The meeting was chaired by MP Brijmohan Agarwal.
Discussion on making Raipur Airport international
In the meeting, the necessary steps to develop Raipur Airport at the international level were discussed in detail. MP Shri Agarwal directed to collect data from the Immigration Office to collect correct data of passengers traveling abroad from Chhattisgarh. He stressed the need to start immigration, custom and cargo offices at the airport as soon as possible so that international air services can be started.
Emphasis on new flights and services
The MP directed to explore the possibilities of connecting the flights operated from Raipur to Ambikapur to Patna, Prayagraj, Banaras, and Ranchi. He also talked about making an action plan to start direct flights from Raipur to Jaipur, Pune, Patna, Ranchi, and Chandigarh. He also instructed to operate Raipur-Hyderabad flight via Jagdalpur. He also suggested to encourage airlines like Air India and Akasa Air to start their services from Raipur so that passengers can get better facilities along with reduction in fares.
Special focus on passenger facilities
Airport parking rates, waiting time and behavior of parking personnel were also discussed in the meeting. Agarwal directed to reduce the waiting time to 10 minutes and reduce parking rates. He asked the Superintendent of Police and Collector to find a solution to these issues in collaboration with the Airport Authority.
