Association members demand hosting of country’s oldest hockey tournament

Rajnandgaon (Team Newsbuddy): District Hockey Association Rajnandgaon and members associated with the organization of All India Hockey Competition met Collector Sanjay Agarwal today and discussed about organizing the country’s famous and oldest hockey competition Mahant Raja Sarveshwar Das Smriti All India Hockey Competition because the turf of International Hockey Stadium is not suitable for the competition. This year, discussions were held about organizing the hockey competition on grass ground in Digvijay Stadium premises as it was done in the past.

Members associated with the event told that even today competitions are organized on grass and clay court in other parts of the country, so this year this competition should be organized in Digvijay Stadium of Rajnandgaon also and the organization of the competition should be provided continuously.

In this context, during the discussion, President of Chhattisgarh and District Hockey Rajnandgaon Firoz Ansari, Ramesh Dakliya, Qutubuddin Solanki, Prakash Sankhla, Ajay Jha, Prakash Sharma, Neelam Jain, Bhushan Saav, Ganesh Prasad Sharma Gannu, Hockey Coach Anuraj Shrivastava, Kumar Swami, Mahendra Thakur, Prince Bhatia, Arun Members like Shukla, Yogesh Divedi, Gunwant Patel, Abdul Qadir, Raju Rangari etc. were present. On the discussions of all these people, the Collector said that there will be no problem of any kind in organizing the event and the government and administration will provide full support.
