Role of sports news in promoting sports in Chhattisgarh is unforgettable

Being associated with sports journalism for the last 46 years, I have a great passion for promoting sports GK. During this period, I got the opportunity to see many international, national competitions, narrate eyewitness accounts of many games and meet champion players and organizers. During most of the interviews, the background of the players revealed that the players themselves and their parents encouraged them to participate in sports. Later, such young emerging sports talents got the opportunity to read and know about their sports achievements published by the media. This encouraged many talents and due to that publication, the desire to remain in sports was awakened. It cannot be denied that the role of local social, print, electronic media has been important in discovering the major sports personalities of the country today. In fact, even today, grassroots level sports journalists do not get the respect they deserve. In this way, the role of local journalists is most important in getting emerging talent a place in the sports world. After success at local, district and state level, the space given by the media makes every player proud and at the same time, parents and family members get a different identity in the society.
There is a need for the state of Chhattisgarh to formulate a solid strategy in this direction. Our state is celebrating its silver jubilee this year but the atmosphere of sports is not being created in the state. Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka are many such states where due to the sports policy, players of various sports are making India proud at the national and international level. In Chhattisgarh also, an attempt was made to formulate a policy for sports and players but now it has become clear that this cannot be achieved only by the rules made by the sports department.
In today’s situation, a committee needs to be formed for this by including former players, trainers, judges, politicians, members of sports media, sports lovers, administrative officers, selected officials of international, national and state sports associations. If the concept of developed India is to be fulfilled in 2047, then the rulers of the state will have to be very serious in the field of sports. In this direction, Khel News, which is run on the social media of Bilaspur, has played an important role in the past few days. The third Khel Pratibha Samman Samaroh was organized in Bilaspur under the aegis of Khel News, in which the emerging and rising players of various sports of the state were awarded. The most notable thing was that in this, not any particular sport but the players who won medals at the state or national level in Olympic and non-Olympic games were honored.
