Six members of same family murdered : Death sentence given to husband, wife
2 min readLucknow (Team Newsbuddy): Special court in Lucknow, UP has sentenced a couple to death in the case of murder of six members of the same family in a property dispute. This case is of Banthra police station area where Ajay Singh and Rupa Singh, who were found guilty in the case of murder of six members of the family, have been sentenced to death.
According to the news agency report, the court termed it as the rarest of rare cases and said that this crime has shaken the conscience of the society. Special Judge Rohit Singh said in the verdict given on January 16 that this brutal murder was committed due to property dispute. The case of the son of the culprits has been transferred to the Juvenile Court after he was found to be a minor.
On April 30, 2020, the complainant told the police that his brother Ajay Singh, sister-in-law Rupa and nephew together killed his father Amar Singh, mother Ram Dulari, brother Arun Singh, sister-in-law Ram Sakhi, nephew Saurabh and niece Sarika with an axe and gun. According to the complaint, Ajay Singh had asked his father for the money he would get from selling the property. He suspected that this money would be given to younger brother Arun. This dispute took the form of murder. During the hearing of the case, witnesses told the court that Arun Singh was shot in the head, while his wife and children were chopped with an axe.
The court said that such a brutal murder, aimed at creating fear and terror, shakes the conscience of the society. The court sentenced the culprits to death, but said that it is necessary to get it approved by the High Court. A fine of Rs 1 lakh each has also been imposed on the culprits. Apart from this, life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 were given for conspiracy. Ajay Singh has also been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5,000 under the Arms Act.
