Madhya Pradesh sets stage for plastic industry growth , sustainability

Indore: Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a key player in India’s plastic industry, offering vast opportunities for growth, innovation, and employment. With a focus on building a sustainable ecosystem, the state aims to balance industrial development with environmental responsibility. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, addressing the inaugural session of Plastpack 2025 in Indore, emphasized the state’s commitment to promoting reuse and waste management techniques while ensuring the plastic industry flourishes responsibly. He assured that experts and scientists will play a pivotal role in developing eco-friendly technologies.
The Plastpack 2025 conference, one of the largest gatherings of the plastic industry in India, has brought together over 400 companies and more than 2,000 exhibitors, showcasing state-of-the-art products, technologies, and innovations.
Dr. Yadav highlighted the significance of the plastic industry in modern life and its proven utility during critical times like the COVID-19 pandemic. “Whether it was PPE kits or masks, plastic played a life-saving role during the crisis. Its importance in our daily lives is undeniable,” he remarked.
He also outlined the state’s efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to boost industrial development. Dr. Yadav shared that six regional investor summits organized in the state have resulted in investments worth ₹4 lakh crore. These investments are expected to generate approximately 3 lakh jobs and ₹200 crore in state revenue. He reiterated the state’s commitment to adopting the Gujarat model for rapid industrial progress.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the conference by lighting the ceremonial lamp and visited the exhibition stalls, where he interacted with exhibitors and industry leaders.
In his welcome address, Indian Plast Pack Forum Chairman Sachin Bansal emphasized the conference’s importance. “This event, organized in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), serves as a vital platform for 400 companies to showcase their latest innovations and products. It is not only a hub for traders and entrepreneurs but also a valuable learning experience for students, researchers, and environmentalists,” he said.
Plastpack 2025 has created a dynamic platform that bridges industries, education, and innovation, highlighting Madhya Pradesh’s potential as a leading destination for the plastic sector. With its strong focus on sustainability and innovation, the state is set to redefine the future of the plastic industry while creating meaningful opportunities for its people.
