20th Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar National Bridge Competition

Indore. Eight teams reached the quarter finals after the pre-quarter final matches of Kalani Trophy held under the 20th Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar National Bridge Competition being played at Yashwant Club. Along with this, the matches of Holkar Trophy Pair Bridge Competition also started.
This competition is being organized under the joint aegis of Indore Contract Bridge Association, Yashwant Club and Holkar Bridge Trust under the technical guidance of Indian Bridge Federation. Eight teams have reached the quarter finals after the pre-quarter final matches played in Kalani Trophy on Friday. In the pre-quarter final matches, Arun Jain team defeated Indore’s Siddheshwar team. Whereas KKK Bridge Lovers defeated The Assigns, Shri Radhe defeated Shri Shri, Ruia Blazers defeated Formidables, Sarla Fibers defeated Finesta, Dhampur Sugar Mills defeated Deepadhar, Carpe Dime defeated Monika Jaju and Marvex defeated Kota Combine.

The elimination round of Holkar Trophy Pair Bridge competition started from Friday. After the first round, Soumitra Das and Tanmay Majumdar are leading with 51 points. The pair of Neena Singh and KS Devdhar are in second place with 47.25 points. The pair of Naveen Kumar and Pintu Saav are in third place with 44 points. This pair was in the top position after the first round. But after the second round, it has come to third place. The pair of Nikita Kamal and Amarjeet are in fourth place with 44 points. Sanjay Amist and Deepak Khotiwal and Umesh Kumar Singh and Rakesh Chandra Sharma are in fifth and sixth place with 40-40 points. Sanjib Bhattacharjee and Sanjib Ganguly are in seventh place with 39 points.

Players from 14 to 80 years of age are playing
In this bridge competition, along with 14 year old players, elderly players of 70 to 80 years are also participating. Mumbai’s Tirthraj Chaudhary, who came as the youngest player in the competition, has impressed everyone with his game. He has been playing this game for 5 years and is also the sub-junior national champion. He has also represented the country in many competitions. Along with this, many elderly players have also come from all over the country, who have represented the country and have also won medals.
