“Creation of sports fund is necessary for all-round development of sports”

New provision should be made for Olympic Games in 2036 in Union Budget of 2025-26″

Raipur: If the performance of the players of our country at the international level after independence is compared, it will become clear that the performance of our players is weaker than the participants of other countries at the world level. The central government took steps to popularize sports in India by discussing according to the current situation.

The biggest requirement for preparing international level players by taking sports to every village of the country is money. When food, clothing, shelter, education, health have become the biggest problems in our country due to population explosion, then getting funds for sports is a difficult task. Nevertheless, according to the demand of the time, financial help is being provided by the Center, State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, Industrial Houses for the search, training, accommodation, food, education etc. of players.

To prepare the players for competition, different types of sports academies are being built. In this direction, especially after 2014, the efforts being made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish India’s name in the world are noteworthy. Finding talented players from all over the country and training them is not an easy task, but the Prime Minister has easily completed this process by providing funds in the budget. Now that efforts are being made to organize the Summer Olympic Games in 2036 in our country, there is a need to make provision from the current 2025-26 budget to collect a large amount for it.

There are many people in our country who understand the importance of sports in life and want to donate some amount to promote it, but at present there is no such system in our country to create a ‘sports fund’ and deposit that gift or donation. A provision will have to be made in the budget to give tax exemption to the person, family or organization making such donation. The present Finance Minister will have to take a strong decision in this direction.
The venue for the 2036 Olympic Games is likely to be selected in the year 2025. It is clear from the working style of the Prime Minister that other countries of the world will not create any special obstacle in organizing the 2036 Olympic Games in India. Many economists and policy makers of India may not agree that the possible collection of Rs. 1 lakh crore for the successful organization of the 2036 Olympic Games will not be possible, but this is not so. We still have 11 years left. A large amount of money can be collected in this period. A policy of giving income tax exemption from the taxes received from various sources in our country should be made from now itself. Apart from this, additional tax can be collected by giving special exemption to the construction organizations. Organizing the Olympic Games in India is possible without implementing the policy of collecting additional tax in the income tax levied on the common man. It is necessary to tell those who express doubts over the successful organisation of such an event that now there is no need for concrete construction in Olympic events and the infrastructure can be built at a lower cost while keeping the environment safe.
