Fearing defeat, BJP government to conduct elections through EVMs – Congress

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): Reacting to the conduct of urban body elections through EVMs, State Congress Communication Department President Sushil Anand Shukla said that there is an atmosphere against the BJP government in the entire state. The BJP knows that it cannot win any election without EVMs. First the announcement of conducting local body elections through ballot papers and then taking a U-turn and deciding to conduct urban body elections through EVMs shows that the BJP is scared of the elections. The decision to conduct elections through EVMs came after the meeting of the BJP Management Committee, meaning that it was discussed in the meeting that the BJP cannot win the elections, that is why the decision to conduct elections through EVMs was taken.
State Congress Communication Department President Sushil Anand Shukla said that in the states where the BJP had won the elections through EVMs, within a few months, the BJP had lost badly in the local body elections conducted through ballot papers in the same states. BJP knows that it is not going to win the municipal elections in Chhattisgarh with ballot papers. That is why even after the announcement, preparations are being made to conduct elections with EVMs.
