Indore sets ambitious goal to join India’s top 10 cities

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Indore is gearing up to secure its position among India’s top 10 cities with a clear and strategic vision for development. Madhya Pradesh’s Principal Secretary of Urban Administration and Development, Sanjay Shukla, during a review meeting of the Indore Development Authority (IDA), emphasized a holistic approach focusing on employment generation, traffic management, infrastructure upgrades, and strengthening sectors like education, healthcare, and transportation.
Highlighting Indore’s potential as an economic powerhouse, Shukla stressed the importance of leveraging the city’s status as a business hub while promoting innovations in urban planning and public services. Solutions to traffic issues on key routes like AB Road, implementing smart transportation systems, and enhancing civic infrastructure were identified as priorities.
The Principal Secretary also urged IDA to showcase its key properties at the upcoming Bhopal Investor Summit to attract investments, further boosting the city’s economic trajectory. Employment generation remains a top priority, with directives to align projects with sustainable job creation and regional economic growth.
IDA CEO R.P. Ahirwar presented a detailed report on ongoing initiatives and assured swift implementation of future projects aligned with the city’s long-term vision. The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner and Chairman Deepak Singh, Collector Ashish Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Indore Smart City CEO Divyank Singh, and senior architect Hitendra Mehta, among others.
Shukla emphasized that transforming Indore into one of India’s leading cities requires collaboration across departments and a roadmap prioritizing economic growth and enhanced civic amenities. The meeting marked a significant step toward positioning Indore as a national leader in innovation, economic development, and quality of life.
