Indore(Team Newsbuddy): Indore is gearing up to secure its eighth consecutive title as India’s cleanest city while also vying for the prestigious “Golden City Award” in the 2025 cleanliness survey. With a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, the city aims to set new benchmarks in urban hygiene and waste management.
During a high-level review meeting at the Smart City office, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav expressed confidence in the city’s meticulous preparations. He highlighted the comprehensive strategy driven by innovative practices and active public participation as the foundation for this year’s campaign.
The mayor emphasized the importance of unannounced inspections, competitions among wards to motivate councilors, and innovative initiatives such as a cleanliness examination for students to foster awareness and engagement. He also announced the introduction of regular monitoring drives during morning and evening hours to ensure cleanliness at all times.
In a significant step forward, the city is accelerating the upgrade of its waste management plant from a 550 TPD capacity to 800 TPD, further bolstering its efforts towards sustainable and efficient waste processing.
Appealing to the citizens for their active participation, Mayor Bhargav said, “Indore’s success story is a reflection of its people’s dedication. With collective determination, we will not only retain our crown as India’s cleanest city but also achieve new heights of excellence with the Golden City Award.
