Raipur(Team Newsbuddy) : South East Central Railway(SECR) is moving towards maintaining its title and tradition of being one of the highest loading zones with the combined efforts of its dedicated railway employees. With its strong intentions, South East Central Railway, while contributing to the industrial development of the country, has completed 200 million tonne loading in just 295 days from 01 April 2024 to 20 January 2025 of the current financial year 2024-25 with the new management system, whereas this feat was achieved in 318 days in the previous financial years 2023-24, 345 days in financial year 2022-23 and 348 days in financial year 2021-22. This is the best performance by South East Central Railway so far with a share of 65% incremental loading in Indian Railways.

The commodities loaded by South East Central Railway during this period mainly include coal, clinker, iron ore, cement, steel, food grains, chemical fertilizers, mineral oil and raw material for steel factories etc.

The increase in freight loading in South East Central Railway is being seen at a time when many important projects like doubling, tripling and fourth line of railway lines are also being worked on for the development of infrastructure in this railway. Thus, along with unprecedented progress in infrastructure, South East Central Railway has also increased the loading of coal and other minerals, giving impetus to the economy of Chhattisgarh as well as the country and contributed to increasing the employment activities of the local people. The major contribution behind this achievement is the better work at every level with various projects of Coal India, the main partner of South East Central Railway in freight loading, and other customers. The problems of the consumers have been resolved through meetings from time to time.

Bilaspur Railway Division, known as the railway division with the highest freight loading in Indian Railways, has also achieved the figure of 150 million tonnes of freight loading 32 days earlier than last year. The General Manager has appreciated the efforts of all the railway employees for this remarkable achievement.
