Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Dev Patel, Tanush Ghildayal, Shaurya Swaroop, Diya Ramesh, Ananya Choubey, Sejal Bhutada won in the first round of the main round of the International World Tennis Tour Junior ITF J-60 Grade- 4 Tennis Championship organized by Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association and sponsored by Moira Saria and entered the pre-quarterfinals.
In the first round of the singles category of this prestigious international junior tennis event being played at Indore Tennis Club, third seeded Shaurya Swaroop in boys singles defeated Australia’s Abhinav Gaur 6-2, 6-0, seventh seeded Dev Patel defeated qualifier Amit Mund 7-5, 6-1, qualifier Tanush Ghildayal defeated Tejas Ahuja 6-2, 6-2, Daksh Kukreti defeated Prakash Saran 6-3, 6-2, fourth seeded Aishwarya Mehra defeated qualifier Sri Sai Satyaram 6-3, 6-2, qualifier Yashwin Dahiya defeated Aarav Dhekial 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 and entered the pre-quarterfinals.
In the first round matches of girls’ singles, top seed Diya Ramesh defeated qualifier Sanmitha Lokesh 6-2, 7-6(4), Ananya Choubey of America defeated qualifier Siya Prasade 6-3, 6-3, third seed Saina Jayesh of Singapore defeated qualifier Divya Angrish 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a tough match. Meanwhile, sixth seed Nainika Reddy withdrew from the match against Sejal Bhutada due to health reasons. Sejal was leading 3-2 at that time.
Kanishka and Khushvin of Madhya Pradesh in the quarter finals of boys doubles
In the boys’ doubles matches which started on Tuesday, the pair of Kanishk Khathuria and Khushvin Jeffery from Madhya Pradesh entered the quarter finals by defeating Ansh Bhalla and Om Hiren Thakkar 6-3, 4-6, 10-6. After winning the first set, the local players lost in the second set. But they made a great comeback in the tiebreaker set and won. In other matches, top seeded Aditya Mor and Praneel Sharma easily defeated Dev Patel and Om Virams 6-0, 6-1, second seeded Tanush Ghildayal and Samarth Sahita 7-5, 6-2, Saurish Modi and Shivtej Shirfule defeated local players Vivaan Bidasariya and Yashveen Dahiya 6-4, 3-6, 10-5, Aryan Choubey and local player Adhiraaj Thakur defeated Niyanth Badrinarayan of America and Arnab Harishankar of India 6-3, 6-2, third seeded Prakash Saran and Shaurya Swaroop defeated Arnab Dekhiyal and Ahaan Mishra 6-0, 6-4 to enter the quarter finals.
In the first round matches of girls doubles, top seeded Harshini Nagaraj and Diya Ramesh defeated Ananya Choubey and Akriti Sonkusare of USA 6-0, 6-4, while second seeded Nanika Reddy and Saiyetti Varadkar defeated Reet Arora and Ananya Jain 6-3, 6-1 to enter the quarter finals.
