PAHAL’S DAY OUT: wins single & double events

Indore (Team Newsbuddy): Local player Pehal Kharadkar performed well and entered the quarter-finals of the girls’ singles category and the semi-finals of the doubles in the International World Tennis Tour Junior ITF J-60 Grade- 4 Tennis Championship organized by Madhya Pradesh Tennis Association.
In the pre-quarterfinals of the singles category of this prestigious international junior tennis event being played at Indore Tennis Club, seventh seed Pahal Kharadkar of Indore defeated Anvi Poonaganpati 6-4, 7-6(5) after a little struggle. In the first set, Pahal won by saving her serve. But in the second set, Anvi also tried to make a comeback, but in the tiebreak, Pahal played strongly and won and entered the quarterfinals. In other matches of the girls’ pre-quarterfinals, top seed Diya Ramesh defeated Aahan 6-2, 6-4, Prachi Malik defeated Sejal Bhutada 6-4, 6-3, Jaya Kapoor caused an upset by defeating fourth seed Sayetti Varadkar 7-5, 6-2, second seed Harshini Nagaraj defeated Deepshikha Vinayagamoorthi 6-3, 6-3, third seed Saina Vaidya defeated Ahida Singh 7-6(3), 6-4 and Parthasarathi Munde easily defeated 6-1, 6-0 to enter the last eight.
In boys singles also, top seeded players made it to quarter finals with easy wins. First seeded Samarth Sahita defeated Suresh Modi 6-2, 6-3, second seeded Praneel Sharma defeated qualifier Tanush Ghildayal 7-5, 6-0, fourth seeded Aishwarya Mehra defeated local player Vivan Bidasariya 6-4, 6-2, Vishal Vasudev defeated another local player Kanishk Khathuria 7-5, 6-4, fifth seeded Aditya Mor defeated Om Hiran Thakkar 6-3, 6-3. Two big upsets were also seen in the pre-quarter finals. Unseeded Shivtej Shrirafule upset third seeded Shaurya Swaroop in straight sets 6-1, 6-2 and Daksh Kukreti upset sixth seeded local player Adhiraj Thakur 6-3, 6-3 and made it to quarter finals.

Pehal – Sejal in semi-final
Local player Pahal Kharadkar continued her winning streak in doubles after singles and entered the semifinals while playing with Sejal Bhutada. In the quarterfinal match, Pahal and Sejal defeated Aahan and Disha Kumar in an interesting match 6-2, 7-6(11). Pahal and Sejal won the first set easily, but the second set went to tiebreak, where both the pairs were not ready to accept defeat, but Pahal and Sejal showed excellent coordination and won the set and the match. In other matches of girls doubles, third seeded Shalvi Dalal and Parthasarathy Munde defeated Anushka Bhola and Aradhya Verma 6-3, 6-2, top seeded Maharshi Nagaraj and Diya Ramesh defeated Siya Prasade and Divya Angrish 6-1, 2-0 and made it to the semifinals.
In boys doubles, top seeds Aditya Mor and Praneel Sharma defeated Saurish Modi and Shivtej Shirfule 7-5, 7-5, second seeds Tanush Ghildayal and Samarth Sahita defeated Ayan Choudhary and Adhiraj Thakur 6-3, 6-4, fourth seeds Daksh Kukreti and Aishravya defeated local players Kanishk Khathuria and Khushwin Jeffery in a tough match 6-7(8), 6-3, 10-6, and Mahit Mekhla and Vishal Vasudev defeated third seeds Prakash Saran and Shaurya Swaroop 3-6, 6-2, 10-7 to enter the semi-finals.
