IPS Arun Dev Gautam is new Chhattisgarh DGP

Raipur(Team Newsbuddy). IPS Arun Dev Gautam has been given the charge of DGP in Chhattisgarh Police. Arun Gautam will take charge as the police chief of the state till full appointment to the post of DGP. DGP Ashok Juneja is retiring on 5 February.

According to the rules, the tenure of DGP Ashok Juneja was ending in July 2024, but just before his retirement, the central government had given him an extension for six months. IPS Arun Dev Gautam has been given the responsibility before full appointment to the post of DGP. After the central government approves the name of the new DGP, the new DGP will be formally announced.

Know about the new DGP
Arun Dev Gautam is a 1992 batch IPS officer. He has been the SP of many districts including Raigarh, Korea, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Surguja, Jashpur. He is counted among the sharp IAPS officers, he has been awarded the United Nations Medal and the President’s Police Medal for his outstanding services. He has also served as the IG of Bastar region and has displayed his administrative capabilities there. Currently he is posted as Director General Home Guard.
