Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Bharatiya Janata Party’s state general secretary Sanjay Srivastava, taking a dig at the outgoing mayor of the capital, Ejaz Dhebar, for completely disappearing from the Congress’ campaign in view of the urban body elections, has said that the outgoing mayor, who had turned the Municipal Corporation into a den of loot and scams under the patronage of the previous Bhupesh government of Congress, has now become so irrelevant for the Congress that instead of the entire corporation area, he has been confined to just one ward.

Sanjay Srivastava said that even before this, Dhebar was completely kept away from the campaign by the Congress leadership in the by-election of Raipur South. BJP state general secretary said that by keeping Dhebar away from election campaign, Congress has accepted that Dhebar has proved to be a complete failure as a mayor and the people of Raipur city are extremely angry due to his failures, scams and neglect of development and public facilities.

By making Dhebar and his wife candidates from different wards, Congress leadership has made a futile attempt to curb the discontent by making political equations inspired by appeasement. Shrivastava said that in fact Congress is in pain due to the embarrassment it has faced so far and is still facing in the capital and for this Congress has blamed Dhebar by keeping him away from election campaign.

The plight of Raipur city during Dhebar’s tenure, the scandalous stories of scams and frauds written in the corporation, seeing the public anger arising from this, Congress has clearly seen its historic defeat in the civic elections. Congress is now struggling to save its political existence in any way possible.

Sanjay Srivastava said that no matter how much effort Congress makes, the people of the capital have once again resolved to uproot Congress from Raipur Municipal Corporation on 11 February and this is going to be proved on 15 February. For the last 15 years, Congress has been ruling Raipur Municipal Corporation and the people of the city have been yearning for development works and basic amenities.
