Naxalite Murali, carrying bounty of 25 lakhs, killed in encounter

He was involved in many major incidents

Dantewada: Police has achieved a major success in anti-naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. Maoist Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali, carrying a bounty of 25 lakhs, was killed in an encounter in the border area of Dantewada and Bijapur. The bodies of two other Naxalites have also been recovered along with him. Police has also recovered a large quantity of weapons during the search.

INSAS rifle, .303 rifle, 12 bore rifle along with other explosive materials and items of daily use have been recovered from the encounter site. This encounter took place in the border area of village Girsapara, Nelgoda, Bodga and Ikeli of Thana Geedam, where the team of Dantewada DRG and Bastar Fighters went on an operation after receiving information about the presence of Naxalite cadres.

Encounter continued since morning, three Naxalites killed

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai said that there was a fierce firing between Maoists and security forces from 08 am on March 25, 2025, after which the bodies of three Naxalites were recovered in the search operation. In the preliminary identification, one of the killed Maoists has been identified as Dandakarnya Special Zonal Committee Member (DKSZCM) Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali. He was a resident of Warangal district of Telangana and a reward of Rs 25 lakh was announced on him. The other two Naxalites are being identified.

100 Naxalites wiped out

A total of 100 Naxalite bodies have been recovered in various encounters in the Bastar range so far in the year 2025. Bastar Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P. said that as per the instructions of the government and the wishes of the public, the Naxal eradication campaign is being carried out effectively by DRG, STF, Bastar Fighters, CoBRA, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CAF and other security forces under the guidance of the Police Headquarters.

Search operation continues

Deputy Inspector General of Police Dantewada Range Kamlochan Kashyap said that after the encounter, the search operation is going on in the area and detailed information will be shared after the operation is completed. This major action of the security forces has further strengthened the campaign against Maoists in the area.
