The discussions and decisions that have been made in the last one week regarding the elimination of Naxalism from the whole country have become a part of a big strategy in the campaign being run to eliminate Naxalites by 2026. From April 8 till now, the campaign going on against Naxalites in the country has got further strength. Whether it is the Supreme Court or the claims of the central government or the campaign to deal with Naxalites at ground zero in the state. The whole country is now engaged in realizing the dream of Naxal-free India. It is not only about guns but also the recommendation of rehabilitation. The Supreme Court’s comment on the work being done at ground zero for the efforts of peace. Which in itself tells that the country has become determined to get out of the Naxalite canker.
Attempt to stop anti-Naxal campaign: In an effort to gain political mileage from the ongoing Naxal campaign in Chhattisgarh, some people approach the court with a sympathy motion. In which many allegations are also made against the security agencies. A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court regarding the people who were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sukma in 2018 in the campaign against Naxalites going on in Chhattisgarh. This PIL was heard in the Supreme Court on 9 April. It was heard by a double bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice BR Gavai and Justice AG Masih. During the hearing, it was alleged that the security forces had killed 15 tribals in the encounter and a case should be filed against them. However, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, on behalf of the government, put forth the view before the court that all the allegations made are baseless. All those who were killed in the encounter with the security agencies were rewarded Naxalites. Whatever claim has been made is false.
Supreme Court said will not interfere: On this, the Supreme Court gave its comment and said that the process of peace restoration is going on in Chhattisgarh. Naxalites are continuously surrendering. In such a situation, we will not unnecessarily interfere in the process of peace. Such cases create obstacles in the process of peace. Peace is coming in the area, so there is no justification for doing such things unnecessarily. The Supreme Court rejected the PIL. The matter is clear, in the campaign being run against Naxalites, now even those people who could have earned political or personal benefits are not going to get much relief. Naxalism will be eradicated at any cost: Union Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a program on April 10, said that Naxalism will be eradicated from the country at any cost. The government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a deadline for the elimination of Naxalites. He said that those who have strayed from the mainstream of society, we are requesting them to join the mainstream of society. Play your important role in the development of the country. Because guns do not lead to the development of any country or society. He said that guns alone are not the solution to the Naxal problem. A policy for the rehabilitation of Naxalites is also being implemented across the country. State governments are also working on it. We are appealing to the people who have strayed from the mainstream of society to join the mainstream of the country and develop the country. But it is also certain that those who do not give up guns will be answered with guns only. But there will be no compromise with Naxalism.
Leave the gun and then we will talk – On April 11, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma while talking to reporters said that the simple and accurate thing for the Naxalites who want to talk to the government is that first of all they should surrender by leaving the gun. After that we are ready to talk to them. Whatever suggestions they have for the development of the country and society, we will accept them under any circumstances. In fact, the Naxalite organization had sent a letter and appealed to Vijay Sharma that they want to talk. Regarding this, Vijay Sharma while giving his reaction to the reporters clearly told that that time has passed now. Like before, the story of come, sit and have tea used to be prevalent, that will not happen now.
Now any talk will happen only when the Naxalites surrender. After they join the mainstream of the society, we are ready to discuss whatever their demands are. Along with this, he also said that the Chhattisgarh government is following the policy of rehabilitation of Naxalites. The government is also providing facilities to the surrendering Naxalites. In such a situation, he requests that they leave the gun and join the mainstream of the society. The government is ready to give them every help. However, Vijay Sharma also said that until the surrender of guns is implemented, the government will not talk about anything.
CM’s appeal to Naxalites: CM said that I request that all those Naxalites who have strayed from the mainstream of society should surrender and live a better life. Because development is possible only when people give up violence. Nothing is going to happen with violence. The Chief Minister said that every case of surrender is being regularly reviewed by the committees formed at the state and district level. It is being ensured that the lives of all those who are surrendering are strengthened in a positive way so that they can join the mainstream of society and do better work.
