Opening a petrol pump becomes easy
Raipur (Team Newsbuddy) : The Chhattisgarh government has taken a big decision and abolished the requirement of state-level license for petroleum retail outlets i.e. petrol pumps. This change has been implemented through a notification issued by the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department on 14 November 2024. Now to open a petrol pump, businessmen will only have to follow the rules of the Central Petroleum Act. The earlier dual permission process has been removed and it has been made easier.
What has changed and why is it important
Earlier, to start a petrol pump, businessmen had to obtain a license for purchase and sale from the Food Department through the Collector. The license had to be renewed every year or once in three years. The dual process of obtaining permission from both the state government and the Center used to cost both time and money, as well as increase paperwork. Now it will be enough to follow only the rules of the Center. This will provide relief to businessmen and the process of opening a petrol pump will become faster and cheaper. This step is a big change towards promoting business in Chhattisgarh and simplifying the rules.
How will businessmen benefit
Now petrol pumps will be able to start quickly with less paperwork and permission at the same level. New businessmen, especially small entrepreneurs and oil companies, will be able to start their work without much hassle. This reform will promote the opening of petrol pumps in rural and remote areas, where the reach of fuel is less at present.
What will be the benefit to the state and the public
This change will increase the availability of fuel in Chhattisgarh, so that people can get petrol and diesel easily. Especially in those areas where there are less petrol pumps right now, the facility will be better. Also, opening of new petrol pumps will increase investment in the state and develop infrastructure. It also fulfills the goal of the government, which emphasizes ease of doing business and economic development.
Chhattisgarh is becoming attractive for business
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the Chhattisgarh Government is serious about creating a favorable environment for businesses in the state. By simplifying the rules and removing unnecessary barriers, the state is working towards facilitating industry, business and encouraging investment. This will not only benefit the businessmen, but the people of the state will also get better services. This decision of the Chhattisgarh Government has made it easier to open a petrol pump. This step will not only increase the access to fuel in all areas, but will also strengthen the economy of the state.
