Indore to host Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan from May 29

Indore(Team Newsbuddy): As announced by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will take place from May 29 to June 12, 2025, across all districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Indore. This initiative, guided by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), aims to educate farmers on advanced agricultural practices and technologies to boost productivity.
During a preparatory meeting at ICAR Headquarters in New Delhi, Minister Chauhan outlined the campaign’s objectives. Teams of scientists will visit villages across 700 districts across the to engage directly with farmers, sharing knowledge on modern farming techniques for the Kharif season. In Indore, four teams comprising experts from the National Soybean Research Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), and the Department of Agriculture will visit villages to promote the latest crop production technologies and government welfare schemes.
Dr. K.H. Singh, Director of the National Soybean Research Institute, described the campaign as a vital step toward the Central Government’s “lab-to-land” vision, ensuring that research and innovations reach farmers. He highlighted that the Vikasit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan will focus on disseminating knowledge about modern agricultural practices, advanced crop varieties, and welfare schemes.
A detailed action plan was finalized in a meeting chaired by Minister Chauhan, attended by senior ICAR officials, including Dr. M.L. Jat (Secretary, DARE, and Director General, ICAR) and Dr. H.S. Yadav (Deputy Director General, Crop Science).
Dr. B.U. Dupare, Principal Scientist at the National Soybean Research Centre, stated that four teams, led by Dr. R.S. Taylor, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Kasturbagram, will be deployed in Indore. These teams, including scientists and officials from central and state government departments, will travel through villages on major connecting roads using the Vikasit Sankalp Abhiyan Rath. They will interact with farmers, providing insights into agricultural technologies and government schemes aimed at enhancing farmer welfare.
