One Nation, One Election’ can save Rs 7 lakh crore: PP Chaudhary

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): PP Chaudhary, who is chairing the Joint Parliamentary Committee constituted in Delhi for the ‘One Nation, One Election’ system, presented a major economic assessment after the committee meeting on Wednesday. He said that by conducting simultaneous elections, the country’s economy can get a potential saving of up to Rs 7 lakh crore.
PP Chaudhary said that the economic impact of conducting and not conducting simultaneous elections was analyzed in the meeting. According to the study, this can have a positive impact of up to 1.6% on India’s GDP.
He said, “If the Lok Sabha and state assembly elections are held simultaneously, it can lead to huge savings on administrative expenses, security arrangements, logistics and other resources. Along with this, it will also reduce the hindrance in development work.” PP Choudhary also informed that the next meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee will be held on August 11, in which political experts and social scientists have been invited. Social and administrative aspects will also be discussed in this meeting.
