Dost ,Pure groups represent CG in World Social Forum conference organized in Nepal

Raipur.The international festival of the World Social Forum was held in Katmandu, the capital of Nepal from 15 to 19 February. The World Social Forum is attended by civil society organizations from around the world. This global conference aims to challenge the contemporary vision of globalization and build an alternative future through various ideological meetings, cultural events, workshops, exhibitions, and rallies. Efforts were made jointly for development. On the vast grounds of Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu, The group discussions were focused on social movements, citizens, trade unionists, intellectuals and were openly exchanged. Ekta Parishad’s founder PV Rajagopal gave the message of goodwill of Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi by walking fifteen kilometers on the Nepal-India border at the beginning of the World Social Forum programme. The team of DOST (Doctors on Street) and PURE (Progressive Utilization of Research and Economics) led by Dr. Satyajit Sahu from Chhattisgarh participated in various meetings of the World Social Forum. Advocates Santosh Thakur, Sunil Sharma, Bharti Thakur, Swati Dubey and Suraj Dubey participated in the conceptual meeting on climate change, social justice, women empowerment. Four thousand social workers from fifty-five countries participated in various programme of the World Social Forum’s conference organized in Nepal.
Global organizations strongly demonstrated their views through rallies on the issues of economic inequality, climate change, land rights, human rights, and the Palestinian genocide, with Nepal’s World Social Forum being the main theme.
In this programme of Nepal, it was also decided that next year this event will be held in Kenya where neo-liberal globalization and capitalist economic policies will be strongly opposed through this platform.
