Objection regarding Ramlala Darshan Scheme, PIL in High Court
2 min readBilaspur. A PIL has been filed in the High Court considering the Ram Lalla Darshan Scheme as contrary to the secular principle of the Constitution. After hearing the case, the Division Bench has reserved the decision.
The PIL has demanded closure of the scheme being run by the state government to take the people of Chhattisgarh to Ayodhya Dham for darshan of Ram Lalla and bring them back. The petitioner, Lakhan Subodh, a resident of Devrikhurd in Bilaspur district, has said that this is contrary to the provisions given in the Constitution. The petitioner has said in his petition that India is a secular nation. Ramlala Darshan Scheme is contrary to the things and conditions contained in the Constitution.
The petitioner has demanded the closure of this scheme. The case was heard in the division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Aggarwal.
While advocating on behalf of the state government, the legal officers of the Advocate General’s Office said that the Ramlala Darshan Scheme has not been done on the basis of any religion or caste. Law officials also said that the scheme does not differentiate on the basis of religion or caste. This is for the people of the state. The people of the state are meant for everyone. This scheme is beneficial for those poor people living in the state who are financially weak and are unable to go. They will reach Ayodhya for free and will return after having darshan of Ramlala. People of this category will benefit. There is no restriction of any caste or religion in this. Under the scheme, everyone who wants to go is being taken to Ayodhya and arrangements to bring them back are also being made at the government level.
