Raipur. Senior spokesperson of the state Congress Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the ministers of the Sai government are flouting the model code of conduct and the State Election Commission is sitting with closed eyes. Why are departmental officers and employees going to the bungalows of ministers every day? What instructions are the ministers giving to lure voters by calling departmental officials? Home Minister Vijay Sharma goes to Holi Milan Samaroh and the public can hand him a demand letter regarding basic problems there. Is this not a violation of the model code of conduct? Is this not a matter of influencing voters in the elections and complaints are being received continuously, why is the State Election Commission not taking strict action on this.

Senior spokesperson of the state Congress Dhananjay Singh Thakur said that the State Election Commission has implemented the Model Code of Conduct only on the leaders of the opposition party. False cases are being made against the leaders of the opposition party and the ruling party has been given a free hand. The way departmental officers are reaching the bungalows of ministers on the pretext of Holi Milan. The State Election Commission should take cognizance of this on its own and the officers roaming around the bungalows of the minister should be kept away from election work. Senior officers of every department including the Police Department, Forest Department, Food Department, Excise Department are posted in the bungalows of ministers. The State Election Commission should take the Excise Department under its control and should also keep an account of how many liquor crates are coming in bulk to be sold in small change in liquor shops and from which company is it coming?
