BJP’s commission habbit: Rods, cement are 25 percent expensive, sand prices 4 times more :Congress
2 min readRaipur. Accusing the double engine government of Bharatiya Janata Party and BJP leaders of profiteering, senior spokesperson of the State Congress Committee Surendra Verma has said that despite the reduction in the cost of raw materials and building construction materials, the general public is not getting its benefit. The prices of raw materials like iron, coal and limestone are continuously falling in the international market, but the benefit of this decline is not visible on the retail prices of cement and steel, on the contrary, the inflation of construction materials is continuously increasing. Big companies are taking full advantage of the reduction in cost by colluding with the BJP government. The price of coal in the international market, which was around $ 160 in April 2023 last year, has currently come down to around $ 129 per ton. Within a year, the price of iron ore has come down from $142.57 per tonne to about $104 per tonne, but the benefit of these cost reductions is not reaching the common man.
State Congress Committee spokesperson Surendra Verma has said that ever since the double engine government has been formed in Chhattisgarh, the dream of building a house for the poor and middle class people has been snatched away. Recently, the Vishnudev Sai government has started collecting 30 percent more in the registration of land from April 1. The 30 percent discount in stamp duty on guideline rates, which was being given by the previous Congress government for the last 5 years, has been abolished, the direct loss of which is being borne by the common man. In Chhattisgarh, due to the protection of the Sai government to the sand mafia, the price of sand has already increased four times, now the people are hurt by the huge profiteering in the prices of steel bars and cement, the dream of building a house of the poor and middle class people is getting shattered.
Senior spokesperson of the State Congress Committee, Surendra Verma, has said that due to the wrong economic policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the public is forced to bear the brunt of inflation.
