Chief Electoral Office hosts workshop on Lok Sabha elections , role of media
1 min readRaipur (Team Newsbuddy): Additional Chief Electoral Officer Nileshkumar Mahadev Kshirsagar has said that media plays a strong role as a bridge in the entire election system. Its activism not only increases awareness about elections among voters, but also keeps the election system alert and more fair. Kshirsagar expressed these views while addressing a one-day orientation and workshop on elections for representatives of media institutions.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kshirsagar said in the workshop that today there is no doubt about the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The doubts raised on it have proved to be baseless. He told that a certain protocol is followed for its operation which is done under a completely transparent process. Journalists are in very essential service along with other departments during elections. In such a situation, the facility of postal ballot is a big initiative of the Election Commission of India in fulfilling their duty as voters.
On the instructions of Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale, information on various aspects of elections was given in the media workshop organized today at Naveen Vishram Bhavan in Raipur.
Addressing the workshop, Commissioner of Public Relations Department Mr. Mayank Shrivastava expressed hope that the information given in today’s workshop will be useful to journalists in assisting the election machinery in disseminating and publicizing election related information. He said that the expertise and impartiality of the election machinery and the officers and employees involved in it is beyond doubt.
