A large number of women workers also participated in the rally. Addressing the meeting held on this occasion, General Secretary of Central Zone Insurance Employees Association Com. Dharmaraj Mohapatra said that this year’s May Day has brought new challenges. This May Day is being celebrated at a time when the country is in the process of the 18th Lok Sabha elections. We are not untouched by the ill-effects of the anti-labourer, anti-farmer policies adopted by the BJP, the party in power for the last 10 years. The hard-working people of the country are troubled by anti-people steps like inflation, black money, demonetization, GST, anti-labourer-farmer black laws, privatization of public sectors, unemployment. The Modi government’s attitude of crushing every voice raised against it is ultimately pushing the country towards dictatorship.
MK Nandi, Surendra Sharma, Chandrashekhar Tiwari, SC Bhattacharya and VS Baghel addressed the public meeting and called for politically defeating the anti-people Modi government in these general elections!
