Changing name of Atmanand School is playing with identity of Chhattisgarh: Dr. Mahant

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): Leader of Opposition in Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant said that the current BJP government is trying to change the name of Atmanand English Medium School and College where the previous Congress government of Chhattisgarh has made provision for high level free education to students of all classes. Terming such an attempt as inappropriate, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant has said that changing the name of the school would be playing with the identity of Chhattisgarh. Swami Atmanand was a saint, social reformer and educationist of Ramakrishna Mission. For the upliftment of forest dwellers, he established a high level education center in Narayanpur Ashram and realized the sentiments of Ramakrishna Paramhansa on the land of Chhattisgarh. In his memory, Swami Atmanand English Medium School was started by the Congress government of the state. Dr Mahant has said that the government should think again and again before taking a hasty decision regarding the name change. Dr Mahant said that it is also the responsibility of every public representative to maintain the identity of Chhattisgarh and the respect for the educationists who have contributed to the development of Chhattisgarh.
