The temperature remains around 40 degrees between 12 noon and 3 pm. During this time, animals can get sick or die by placing material on them or using them for riding. The government has banned the use of such animals between 12 noon and 3 pm in areas where the temperature is more than 37 degrees. According to veterinarians, curtains of khus (poppy seeds) or jute sacks should be installed at the main gate of the cattle shed to protect the animals from direct sunlight by ensuring free movement of air in the animal house. Fans, coolers and sprinkler systems can be installed in the cattle shed to protect the animals from heat. It is suitable for dairy animals. Adequate clean drinking water should always be available. Drinking water should be kept in shade. Always keep water and water troughs clean. Water troughs should be cleaned regularly with lime. Do not feed carbohydrate-rich food like flour, roti, rice etc. to animals. Sorghum grown during summer may contain toxic substances, which can be harmful for animals. Therefore, in the absence of rain, irrigate the sorghum crop two to three times before feeding it to animals. To prevent seasonal diseases of animals during rainy season, HS, FMD BQ vaccines should be administered in summer. Plant shady trees around the open area of ​​the animal house which help in reducing the temperature. Consult a veterinarian if animals suffer from heat stroke.
