Union Mineral Secretary reviewed mining activities in the state

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): In a meeting held at the New Circuit House in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar under the chairmanship of Union Mineral Secretary V.L. Kanta Rao in the presence of the Secretary of Revenue, Environment and Mineral Department of Chhattisgarh Government and officials of the Mineral Department, the mining activities in the state were reviewed by having detailed discussions with the representatives of the industries of the state. In the meeting, Secretary of Mineral Department P. Dayanand gave point-wise information about the activities and works conducted by the Mineral Resources Department in the state. During this, Revenue Secretary of Chhattisgarh Avinash Champawat, Secretary of Environment Department R. Sangeeta, Director of Mineral Department Sunil Jain, representatives of various industries including officials of public sector undertakings and related officials were present.

Union Secretary Rao discussed with the representatives of industrial units and took information about the activities and works of mining and mineral industries in the state and also heard their problems. He took suggestions from the representatives of industrial units regarding improving the excavation work and smooth operation of mining activities. Union Secretary Rao said that new technology of green mining should be used in the excavation sector. Giving an example, he told that green energy can be used in mining and mineral industries. He stressed on increasing the share of mineral resources in GDP from the current two percent. Union Mineral Secretary said that Chhattisgarh is the country’s leading state in the availability of mineral resources and mining activities. The state has to be taken further ahead in mining activities, which will prove equally important for the country and the state from the economic point of view. He suggested moving ahead in the field of processing of critical minerals.
