2 min readIndore(Team Newsbuddy): Host Prakash Club team won the trophy with a thrilling victory in the final of Late Bansilal Silawat Memorial Seven Sider Hockey Competition. In the title match, Prakash Club team defeated RR Sports Institute team by 4-3 goals in sudden death.
The final match of the competition played in front of Daily College was very exciting. Till the stipulated time both the teams were tied with one goal each. In such a situation, sudden death was resorted to for the decision. Mohit Mehra, Ajay Kanesh, Nida Khan and Mohit Verma performed effectively during the match.
The prize distribution of the competition was done under the hospitality of MP Cabinet Minister and Prakash Club President Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, Vice President of MP Olympic Organization Om Soni, former international player Mirranjan Negi and club secretary Devkinandan Silawat. Special guests were Vinita Negi, Dr. Mandakini Silawat, Shubharjan Chatterjee of IATV School. The program was conducted by Prathameshraje Silawat. Halim Khan expressed his gratitude. Guests were welcomed by social worker Ajay Tiwari, Badal Vyas, Ashok Goyal, Jitendra Bhilware, Ajay Sarda, Dr. Rafiq Khan, Prem Prajapat, Sunil Bourasi, Sandeep Verma, Shailendra Verma, Chandu Silawat, Bunty Yadav, Wasimullah, Sania, Nida Khan.
Hockey sticks, T-shirts and other sports equipment were distributed to the players. Addressing the players, Minister Silawat said that these players are part of my family. From Padma Shri Kishan Lal who gave the country its first Olympic gold to Chak De India fame Mirranjan Negi, everyone has emerged from this ground. You are the future hockey heroes. You should work hard and increase the pride of Indore and the state.
Mayor Bhargava said that providing better facilities to the players of national sports is our priority. Today, from this stage, I announce to organize Mayor Trophy Hockey Competition in the city every year. During the program, senior coaches Ashok Yadav and Sarwar Khan were also honored.
