Raipur(Team Newsbuddy): The efforts of the Chhattisgarh Government, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, to provide basic facilities and deliver government schemes without hindrance to remote areas, especially Naxal-affected villages in the Bastar region, are now showing positive results. Basic facilities like roads, electricity, water, health, and education are now available to the villagers. The ‘Niyad Nellanar’ scheme plays a crucial role in making these governance efforts successful. This scheme has increased the presence of government staff in Naxal-affected villages, boosting the confidence of the forest dwellers, who are now freely interacting with government representatives and expressing their needs.

For the past two decades, several villages in the Bijapur district of the Bastar division have been cut off from mainstream development and deprived of basic facilities due to Naxalite activities. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s initiative to establish security camps and launch the Niyad Nellanar scheme has instilled new confidence among the villagers in these areas. The state government has identified five villages near the security camps to provide basic facilities like housing, hospitals, drinking water, electricity, roads, bridges, schools, etc. All these facilities are provided through 32 welfare schemes of the state government, aimed at improving people’s living standards.

Dumripalnar, a village in Burji gram panchayat, around 45 kilometers from Bijapur district headquarters, had also been affected by Naxal activities for many years. The Niyad Nellanar scheme has brought development to the village. The establishment of a security camp in Dumripalnar and the construction of a road have made this possible. Now, the villagers are no longer afraid of the Naxals. Safe drinking water is now available to the residents, who previously had to drink contaminated water. The administration has also installed five hand pumps in the village to ensure the availability of clean drinking water. As one reaches Dumripalnar via the Gangaloor-Pusnar-Hiroli road route of Bijapur, it is clear that there has been a considerable change in the village and the destiny of its residents. Awareness of various schemes and self-confidence towards the administration has increased among the villagers.

The villagers of Dumripalnar are excited about the ‘School Phir Chale’ campaign. The villagers have constructed infrastructure for children’s education from local resources. They are now courageously stepping up to benefit from government programs for health, education, nutrition, and ration supplies.
