New techniques of road, bridge construction will increase efficiency of engineers –Arun Sao

Raipur. (Team Newsbuddy): Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao today addressed the inaugural session of the training organized for the engineers of the Public Works Department. In his address, he said that knowledge of new techniques of road and bridge construction will increase the efficiency of engineers. Through this training, they will be introduced to new and modern techniques of design, construction and maintenance of culverts and small and medium bridges. This will help in ensuring quality construction and maintenance of culverts and small and medium bridges in the state.

This four-day training has been organized by the Public Works Department of the State Government and the Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE) of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for the engineers of Raipur and Durg Division of the Public Works Department at Naveen Vishram Bhavan in Raipur. In this, the departmental deputy engineers, assistant engineers, executive engineers and superintending engineers of both the divisions are being informed about the design, construction, maintenance and repair of culverts and small and medium bridges as well as the details of quality control. Subject experts from various institutions and construction agencies are training them.

Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Shri Arun Sao, while addressing the engineers, said that there is no age for learning. As long as a person works, he keeps learning continuously. With time, the needs of the field change, new technologies keep coming. We also have to update ourselves according to these. Only then we remain useful and relevant. He said that today the traffic on the roads is continuously increasing, high-speed vehicles have also come. Keeping these in mind, it is necessary to strictly follow the safety standards in the construction of roads and bridges.
