Free health facility should be available for all – Majumdar

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): A seminar on the subject of health and medicine was organized at the local Lokayan Bhawan, Dawa Bazaar Chowk under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Sales Promotion Employees Union Raipur unit, where about 200 medicine representatives of Raipur unit participated. The keynote speaker of this program was CITU National Vice President Gyan Shankar Majumdar.

During the seminar, JS Majumdar said that under the National Health Policy of 1983, health service should be free for all, on which the then central government made fundamental changes in 2017 and limited it between private insurance companies and private hospitals through the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This policy is against the health of the common people. Also, Majumdar said that the prices of medicines should be reduced, GST on life saving and essential medicines should be zero, tax should be levied on the production price of medicines and not on the selling price. These experiments will reduce the price of medicines and they will be available to patients at reasonable prices. On this occasion, a booklet written by him on health facilities, medicines and medicine representatives, published by CGSPU, was also released. Its first copy was presented by Majumdar to MK Nandi and Dharmaraj Mohapatra.

In this meeting, CITU State General Secretary MK Nandi, State Secretary Dharmaraj Mohapatra, Obaid Khan, Manish Honap, Naveen Gupta, Vibhas Patondi, Shailesh Patel, Poonam Sahu, Vaibhav Sharma, Prem Singh and a large number of medical representatives were present.
