NIT Raipur organizes 3rd Research Scholar’s Conclave 2024
3 min readRaipur(Team Newsbuddy): National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur’s Office of Dean (Research & Consultancy) officially unveiled the 3rd Research Scholar’s Conclave 2024 on 25th June 2024. This 3-day event from 25th-27th June 2024 is a multidisciplinary Research Conclave, organized for the Ph.D. scholars of the Institute only. The event was graced by the distinguished presence of Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur, who served as the Chief Patron and Chief Guest. Dr. Shrish Verma, Dean (Academics) was the esteemed Guest of Honor. Dr. P. Diwan Dean (R&C) assumed the role of the Chairperson for the conclave. Dr. Anamika Yadav, Dr. J. Anandkumar, Dr. Manvendra K. Tripathi, Dr. Awanish Kumar and Dr. Tirath Prasad Sahu are the organizing secretaries of this program. The Conclave is envisaged to be an excellent platform for the scholars of the Institute to present their research findings and to nurture young minds towards accelerated research and innovation in the various R&D sectors.
The inauguration ceremony of the prestigious conclave at NIT Raipur commenced with a heartfelt opening speech by Dr. Anamika Yadav, who provided an insightful overview of the event, highlighting its importance and the collaborative efforts behind its organization. Following this, Dr. P. Diwan took the stage to elaborate on the significance of the conclave, emphasizing its role in fostering academic and research excellence. He proudly announced that a remarkable 246 abstracts had been submitted for review, with each one meeting the high standards set for the conclave, thereby ensuring a diverse and rich exchange of ideas. Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao congratulated everyone for the conclave and provided an overview of its objectives, while Dr. Shrish Verma emphasized the importance of research and gave an overview of the event’s scope. After this the ISBN – ABSTRACT VOLUME book was also released by all the Dignitaries. The ceremony concluded on a note of gratitude with Dr. J. Anandkumar delivering a vote of thanks.
Following the inauguration, the keynote lecture session on “Research Publication and Ethics” was delivered by Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao. In his comprehensive and enlightening talk, Dr. Rao delved into the nuances of writing and publishing in Scopus-indexed journals, providing a detailed overview of the rigorous process involved. Moreover, he discussed the criteria for acceptance and common pitfalls leading to rejection, offering practical advice on how to avoid these mistakes. Dr. Rao also explained the importance of adhering to ethical standards in research and publication. He shed light on the concept of Scopus-indexed journals, emphasizing their role in ensuring the quality and credibility of research. Furthermore, he elaborated on the journal impact factor, a critical metric that reflects the average number of citations to recent articles published in a journal.
Thereafter, Dr. Dharam Pal, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering delivered a keynote session on “Responsible Conduct of Research and Academic Writing Skill.” He discussed the importance of ethics in research, highlighting issues such as data fabrication, plagiarism, and inappropriate authorship. Dr. Pal also addressed academic writing skills, emphasizing techniques like paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting. His session provided crucial insights into maintaining integrity and excellence in research and academic writing.
The event will culminate on 27th June 2024, marking the end of a significant gathering of academic and research excellence.
