Hezbollah attacks on Israeli military bases

New Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): Iran-backed paramilitary organization Hezbollah in Lebanon attacked Israeli military bases with more than 200 rockets and drones on Thursday.

Tensions are increasing amid Israeli military action against Hamas in Gaza for the last nine months.

A day before these attacks, a senior Hezbollah commander was killed in Israeli action in south Lebanon.

Israel has not said anyone was killed in its northern border area, where most of the people living there have been evacuated. But Israel soon said that it had responded to these attacks in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah is an ally of the Palestinian extremist group Hamas. Since the Gaza war began on October 7 last year, Israel and Hezbollah have been firing across the border almost every day, raising the possibility of a war-like situation between the two.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has been expressing concern over this development and has said that the entire Middle East could be engulfed by this war.
