Massive fire in petrol pump

Korba (Team Newsbuddy): There was a stir at Muskan Petrol Pump located at Imli Chhapar under Kusmunda area at around 2 o’clock in the night. When a huge fire broke out in four vehicles parked in the pump premises. First, the employees of the petrol pump controlled the fire in that four-wheeler at their own level. Tried to control the fire with fire extinguisher, sand and water kept in the petrol pump. The fire started spreading with strong winds and one by one four vehicles got engulfed, including scooty, cargo auto and crane.

On receiving information about the incident, Kusmunda police station in-charge Rupak Sharma, SI Rakesh Gupta, constable Lekh Ram Dhire reached the spot and instructed the jam crowd to stay away from the fire. Along with this, the fire department of SECL Kusmunda near the spot along with the fire department vehicle from Korba were instructed to reach the spot as soon as possible.

The spark of fire from the petrol pump destroyed four vehicles one by one. After about an hour, the SECL fire brigade vehicle reached the spot just one kilometer away and extinguished the last fire that was left in the vehicles.

As soon as the SECL fire brigade vehicle reached the spot, another fire vehicle from Korba’s Korba had already reached the spot. For now, the fire has been completely controlled due to the fire brigade vehicles. Apart from the damage to the vehicles, there has been no loss of life. Prima facie, the cause of the fire is being said to be a short circuit in the DG vehicle parked in the petrol tank premises. The entire matter will be investigated by the Kusmunda police.
