Four private hospitals fined Rs 18.55 lakh

Raipur (Team Newsbuddy): A fine of Rs 18.55 lakh has been imposed on four more private hospitals who ate the money of Ayushman Health Scheme instead of treating patients free of cost. Apart from this, show cause notices have been issued to 17 more hospitals in cases like taking extra amount from patients even after blocking the card and showing OPD patients to IPD.
The game of manipulation by private hospitals in the quest to earn more money in the scheme of free treatment under the Health Assistance Scheme is not stopping. Last month, a fine of about Rs 40 lakh was imposed against four hospitals on such complaints and notices were served to many hospitals. The work of imposing fine is still going on along with the investigation of the answers and documents received from them. According to sources, a big fine has been imposed on four private hospitals which were not following the prescribed rules.
In most hospitals, the card package was blocked by declaring the patients of general ward as admitted in ICU. Apart from this, a notice has been issued to 17 hospitals of the state for similar irregularities and clarification has been sought. They have been warned that action will be taken against them if the answer is not satisfactory. More than five hundred small and big private hospitals in the state are registered under this scheme. The beneficiaries are being given treatment facility of fifty thousand to five lakh rupees on the basis of their ration card. 2.10 crore people in the state have become beneficiaries of the scheme by getting Ayushman cards made.
Notice given to these hospitals
The nodal agency of Ayushman Swasthya Sahayata Yojana has issued notice to Raipur’s City-24 Hospital, Patel Hospital, Anant Hospital, Vignesh Hospital, New Vandana Hospital, Govind Hospital, Mahanadi Hospital, Gautam Hospital, Laxminarayan Hospital, Lalmati Hospital, Vaidehi Hospital, Bilaspur’s RB Hospital, Noble Hospital, New Life Heart Care Hospital, Shri Mangala Hospital, Kabirdham’s Sneha Hospital and Balod’s Umeed Hospital.
