Campaign for rescue, rehabilitation of street children

Bijapur (Team Newsbuddy): On the instructions of the state government and the guidance of Collector Anurag Pandey, a special campaign is being run in the district for the rescue and rehabilitation of street children, child laborers, waste collectors, children involved in begging. In which District Program Officer of Women and Child Development Department Preeti Khokhar Chakiyar gave detailed information about the implementation of this campaign.

Under this campaign, such children who live on the streets without any support and return to their families living in nearby slum settlements at night, live with their families in road-like conditions, children of such category who are waste collectors/beggars/involved in drug addiction face various types of struggles and challenges every day for their livelihood, food, clothing, shelter and protection. The campaign is being run from 15 July to 14 August 2024 in coordination with various departments as per the action plan to identify such children and provide them protection, provide education and other necessary facilities, provide the benefit of various government schemes to their families, make arrangements for their training and employment.
