SC orders to stop all advertisements of Patanjali, trumpeting miraculous medicines!
2 min readNew Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): Indian Medical Association (IMA) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the advertisements of Patanjali!
After a long deliberation, the double bench of the Supreme Court of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah ordered the lawyer of Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna in a harsh tone, to immediately stop your advertisements with promises of miraculous relief and comfort.
Seeing the attitude of the Supreme Court towards Patanjali, the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority of the double engine government on 24 April 2024 canceled the license of Patanjali to ban 14 medicines claiming to be miraculous and provide immediate relief.
These 14 medicines have been banned –

During the last hearing, the two-member bench has exempted Acharya Balkrishna and Baba Ramdev from personal appearance, but had clearly said that the advertisement should be stopped and the sale of banned medicines will have to be strictly banned, accordingly you people should submit an affidavit to confirm compliance.
An affidavit has been submitted on behalf of Acharya Balkrishna and Baba Ramdev in the Supreme Court on 9 July 2024 as per the order.
Two days after Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna submitted their affidavits before the Supreme Court, Hindustan’s reputed magazine Hindustan Times, through a sting operation, purchased banned medicines from Patanjali centres in Delhi, Patna, Lucknow and Dehradun with GST payment and also took the bill for the same.
Hindustan Times’ sting operation was happening at a time when Baba Ramdev was dancing happily at the wedding of Ambani’s son Anant, the richest man not only of India but also of Asia.
The proof of contempt of the Supreme Court is in the news of Hindustan Times newspaper. Which has been read by the whole of India. Now it will be interesting to see what Baba Ramdev’s lawyer says in the hearing on 30 July 2024, and what the Supreme Court does.
