NEET paper leak: CBI files first chargesheet, names of these 13 accused included
1 min readNew Delhi (Team Newsbuddy): CBI has filed the first chargesheet in the NEET paper leak case.
CBI has informed through a press release that it has filed a chargesheet against 13 accused under sections 120-B, 201, 409, 380, 411, 420 and 109 IPC and its substantive offences on August 1, 2024.
According to the CBI press release, the names of these 13 accused are Nitish Kumar, Amit Anand, Sikandar Yadavendu, Ashutosh Kumar-1, Roshan Kumar, Manish Prakash, Ashutosh Kumar-2, Akhilesh Kumar, Awadhesh Kumar, Anurag Yadav, Abhishek Kumar, Shivanandan Kumar and Ayush Raj.
The press release also states that the case was initially registered at Shastri Nagar Police Station in Patna on May 5, 2024 and was later transferred to the CBI on June 23, 2024.
The CBI has said that it is also using methods like advanced forensic technology, artificial intelligence, CCTV footage and tower location to gather evidence against the accused.
According to the press release, the CBI is also continuing further investigation into other aspects of the case against other accused and suspects. Many other accused are already in police or judicial custody. The CBI has so far arrested 40 accused in the case, out of which 15 have been arrested by the Bihar Police.
