Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad, calls devastation a national disaster

Wayanad(Team Newsbuddy): After the landslide in Wayanad, former MP Rahul Gandhi visited the area. Priyanka Gandhi was also present on the Wayanad tour.

Addressing the media after his visit, Rahul said, “I feel proud of all those who are doing rescue work here. For me, this is definitely a national disaster but let’s see what the government says on this.”

Rahul said in his statement, “I think now is the time to help the people and not politics. Now is the time to ensure that all those who are in shock get medical help.”

Rahul said that I am not interested in doing politics on this matter right now. Rather, my interest is in the people of Wayanad and their well-being.

He said, “I am feeling the same way seeing this tragedy as I felt at the time of my father’s death. Many people here have not only lost their father but many people’s entire family has been destroyed.”

Rahul said in a statement that I am proud that many people are standing with Wayanad. Even the attention of the whole country is on Wayanad at this time.

So far 178 people have died in the landslide that occurred in Wayanad between Monday and Tuesday night. Many people are still missing.

Those who died in the landslide include 81 men, 71 women and 26 children.

After the landslide in Wayanad, 88 relief camps have been set up for rescue operations in which 8627 people have been kept.

Between 1 and 4 am on Monday and Tuesday night, three landslides caused heavy destruction in areas like Choorlamala, Mundakkai of Wayanad.
