CM Sai to relaunch Charan Paduka Vitran Yojana , Saraswati Cycle Yojana

Raipur, (Team Newsbuddy): Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended a district-level women’s conference held at the Krishi Mahavidyalaya premises in Jagdalpur on August 1. During the event, he announced the relaunch of the Charan Paduka Vitran Yojana and the Saraswati Cycle Yojana by the Chhattisgarh Government. He also distributed the 6th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to over 70 lakh eligible women and approved Rs. 1 crore for the completion of a long-pending auditorium in Jagdalpur city. Collector Vijay Dayaram K. provided updates on ongoing development projects in Bastar district.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai began his speech with a chant of ‘Jai Danteshwari Mata’. He stated that his government is dedicated to the welfare, development, and prosperity of the poor, akin to the Central Government’s efforts. He highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, various schemes are being implemented for the benefit of villagers, the poor, farmers, women, youth, tribals, and backward classes. The Chief Minister emphasised that in its first cabinet meeting, the Chhattisgarh Government approved the construction of pucca houses for over 18 lakh homeless families. Additionally, tendupatta collectors were supported by purchasing tendupatta at a rate of Rs. 5,500 per standard bag throughout the season, with the profit from selling tendupatta now being given to tendupatta collectors as a bonus. Sai also mentioned that the government has fulfilled its promise of purchasing up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs. 3,100 per quintal, significantly benefiting Chhattisgarh’s farmers. Furthermore, Rs. 3,716 crore has been paid to the state’s farmers as two years of pending paddy bonus.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that Chhattisgarh is receiving full support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government in the mission to make India a developed country by 2047. He pointed out that the previous state government had failed to deposit the state’s share for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, thereby disappointing the 18 lakh poor homeless people who had hoped for pucca houses. Upon taking office, the new government promptly arranged and paid the state’s share to the Central Government. Sai mentioned that Chhattisgarh will soon receive funds for 2023-24 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which will enable about 18 lakh people to get pucca houses. The Chief Minister also discussed his recent visit to Delhi, where he had positive discussions with Union Ministers about expanding rail and road projects in Chhattisgarh. This includes the long-pending Jagdalpur-Rowghat rail project. He shared that renovation work of the only national highway connecting Raipur to Bastar is expected soon. Additionally, a request has been made to the Central Government for a new national highway from Kawardha to Sukma. Sai assured that there would be no shortage of funds for welfare schemes operating in the state, from the PM Yojana to the PM Janman Yojana, as per assurances from Union Ministers.
Addressing the event, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a mega tree plantation campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.” Under this initiative, the state government will plant over 3.95 crore saplings across Chhattisgarh. Shri Kashyap emphasised the importance of this campaign and urged the women to take responsibility for planting and caring for the saplings provided to them. He stated, “Forests are symbols of our culture and tradition. It is our collective responsibility to protect these forests.”
Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade noted that since Vishnu Deo Sai’s government came to power in Chhattisgarh, significant decisions have been made for the benefit of all sections of society. She highlighted that the state government is fulfilling all the promises made in its manifesto, including implementing schemes like the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to empower women financially and make them self-reliant.
Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Deo praised Vishnu Deo Sai’s government for swiftly working to fulfil pre-election promises, emphasising the need for public participation. He described the Mahtari Vandan Yojana as a true recognition of women’s power, addressing the concerns of mothers and sisters who manage households and contribute to society. Deo stated that through this scheme, the government is striving to fulfil its responsibility towards supporting women and their roles in society.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai disbursed loans worth Rs. 100 crore to 3,061 beneficiary groups under the Bihan Yojana of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), including cluster organisations and women’s self-help groups. As part of the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana for the Municipal Corporation, loans were provided to beneficiaries in three installments: Rs. 10,000 in the first, Rs. 20,000 in the second, and Rs. 50,000 in the third installment. During the event, cheques worth Rs. 80,000 were distributed to three individuals. Additionally, the Department of Commerce and Industries awarded certificates to five beneficiaries who completed craftsmanship training under the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana under the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana. The Collector’s Office issued compassionate appointment orders to the heirs of 13 deceased government employees. Furthermore, Kisan Pustak (renamed certificates) were provided to the heirs of five deceased forest rights holders.
Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwade, Chitrakot MLA Vinayak Goyal, Zila Panchayat President Vedvati Kashyap, Mayor Safira Sahu, former MP Dinesh Kashyap, former MLA Subhash Kashyap, Divisional Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Sundarraj P., and various public representatives were present.
